Health care providers perspectives about maternal immunization in Latin America

Antenatal care providers have a key role in providing appropriate information and immunization recommendations to improve pregnant women's vaccine uptake. The objective of this study is describe health providers' perspectives experience regarding the implementation maternal programs Latin America. We conducted 33 in-depth interviews from Argentina, Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, Peru (6–7 per country). Qualitative data analysis was using combination both manual techniques computer software program NVivo. identified coded main themes related immunization. were practices immunization, knowledge training, resource availability interactions with women. Healthcare knew that exists but some did not know their content; they expressed concerns about insufficient training. Providers all five countries need for additional human resources supplies. They also desire women be more proactive ask questions during visits. This first multi-country assessing at facility level Recommendations based on results include implementing trainings around especially targeting obstetricians midwives. These should coordination improvements supply chain other structural issues.
